›EPF is mandatory for organisations with 20+ employees. The employee contributes 12% of (Basic + DA); the employer also contributes 12%, of which 8.33% goes to EPS (Employees' Pension Scheme) and 3.67% to EPF.
›EPS pension is based on pensionable salary (capped at ₹15,000) × pensionable service / 70. Minimum monthly pension under EPS is ₹1,000.
›Contributions to NPS Tier I qualify for deduction under Sec 80CCD(1) up to 10% of salary (within 80C limit of ₹1.5L), plus ₹50,000 additional under 80CCD(1B), plus employer contributions under 80CCD(2) up to 14% of salary for central government employees.
›PPF is fully EEE (Exempt-Exempt-Exempt): contributions deductible under 80C, interest tax-free, maturity proceeds tax-free. Lock-in is 15 years with partial withdrawals allowed from the 7th year.
